How to Read a Factory Audit Report
A social compliance or quality audit report contains more useful detail than the pass/fail headline — here’s what to actually look for.

Look Past the Overall Score
Most audit reports (BSCI, SMETA and similar) score across multiple categories — labor standards, safety, environmental practices — and a strong overall score can still mask a specific category needing improvement worth asking about directly.
Check the Audit Date and Scope
Confirm the audit is recent (most are valid 1-2 years) and covers the specific facility that will produce your order, not just a related entity under the same parent company.
