What Drives MOQ Up or Down
Products requiring custom mold tooling carry higher MOQ because tooling cost needs to amortize across enough units to be economical; private label orders using existing tooling can start much lower since that cost is already sunk.
Component Minimums Matter Too
Some components (custom PCBs, specific sensor batches) carry their own supplier minimums independent of your product’s assembly MOQ — a manufacturer should disclose whether your quoted MOQ is limited by tooling, components, or both.
